Specialty Doctor in Neonatal Transport

MC75

Job overview

This is an exciting opportunity to develop experience within the field of Neonatal Transport for Connect NW, the busiest Neonatal Transport Service in the UK.  Hosted by Manchester Foundation NHS Trust, the service operates across the NW region providing high quality clinical support for emergency neonatal transfers and planned elective transfers.  You will work within  a highly motivated team of  medical, ANNP,  Nursing,  Ambulance and Administrative colleagues to provide  seamless  care and advice during a patients journey across one of 22 Neonatal Units in the NW Operational Delivery Network.  The service currently operates from two operational bases in Liverpool and Manchester but will be moving to a brand new single centralised transport Hub near Warrington in early 2024.

Main duties of the job

As a specialty doctor you will join a team of other medics and ANNPs providing clinical support to undertake all categories of Neonatal Transfer, including Emergency Uplift Neonatal Transfers.  You will be responsible for providing clinical advice and support to colleagues working across the region, under the supervision of a Neonatal Transport Consultant.  You will already possess excellent skills and experience in Neonatology and have exceptional communication and team working abilities. You will undertake a range of shifts covering weekdays, nights and weekends to ensure a resilient 24/7 service.  In addition to clinical responsibilities, you will be able to develop your understanding of clinical governance and participate in education, research and quality improvement projects.
