Target start date - September 24

NWTS Senior Locally Employed Doctor (SLED) is a full-time post with NWTS and is ideal for senior trainees (ideally post-CCT) in anaesthetics, paediatrics, emergency medicine, pre-hospital medicine and paediatric or adult intensive care medicine, who want to gain further experience in the management of the acutely sick child and transport medicine.

The SLED is an integral part of the multidisciplinary paediatric critical care regional transport team, and the main role of the clinical fellow is to manage all aspects of a transfer, including giving advice at the initial referral call, co-ordinating the logistics of transport, stabilising the patient and ensuring a safe, efficient and cohesive transfer from referring centre to the accepting intensive care unit. It is expected that the clinical fellow will take an interest in an audit, guideline or quality assurance projects. In addition, the clinical fellow is part of the NWTS education team and is expected to be involved with the design and delivery of a wide variety of education and training projects run by NWTS.

Due to the short-term nature of the role, the successful candidate must hold a current registration with the GMC at the time of application, whether it be an active licence, ceased licence or a pending application - MFT cannot support GMC Sponsorship for vacancies less than 12 months fixed term. Candidates who do not fit this criteria will not progress through to the shortlisting stage.
