Job overview

 An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated Health care assistant to work within the  Neuro Rehabilitation service at Floyd Unit Birch Hill Hospital. You will assist and support professional and service development within the unit and be pro- active in the setting of standards and monitoring outcomes for best service delivery. This service covers 7 days per week, and therefore the successful candidate will be expected to work weekends, covering days and nights.

You will need to be flexible, have relevant experience, process excellent communication skills and actively contribute to team working, a genuine interest in this speciality must be demonstrated. You will be supported by the senior staff.

Main duties of the job

  • Establish and maintain communication with patients, relatives and carers, working in partnership with the multidisciplinary team to provide holistic patient care
  • Contribute to own personal development
  • Assist in maintaining own and others’ health, safety and security
  • Contribute ideas for service improvement
  • Ensure own actions help to maintain quality and patient safety
  • Undertake routine assessment tasks related to individuals’ health and well-being, making modifications within prescribed parameters and reporting back to Senior Staff on patients’ progress
  • Assist in delivering programmes of care to meet individuals’ health and well-being, in partnership with the multidisciplinary team
  • Ability to work flexibly and unsociable hours to meet the demands of the service
