Part Time Post 28.0 hrs/week
Must have endoscopy knowledge and experience
Must have UK NMC registration
The post holder will take day to day professional responsibility of coordinating the daily running of the endoscopy unit. The post holder will already have a good breadth of knowledge surrounding all aspects of endoscopy and the various procedures carried out in the department in order to be able to support others. The post holder will support the unit manager in ensuring all staff comply with Trust policies, procedures and professional and legal standards. The role encompasses supporting the Unit Manager in achieving improvement in services and key performance indicators for the Division/Trust.

An opportunity has arisen for a part time band 6 on the Endoscopy Unit. We are looking for a motivated, committed and enthusiastic nurse who is passionate about delivering high quality compassionate care.
Endoscopy knowledge is essential as you will play a key role in problem solving and supporting junior colleagues.
the post holder must be flexible with their shift pattern and partake in the on call service.

- Assist patients/service users/carers/relatives during incidental contacts.
- Manage the department in the absence of the unit manager, coordinating the activities of the ward team and deploying resources effectively.
- Maintain a highly professional personal profile and update clinical knowledge and skills as an exemplar role model for endoscopy staff.
- S/he will be visible and accessible in the clinical area for patients, relatives and staff.
- Know how and when to escalate concerns through the appropriate channels to ensure safe, effective and timely patient care.
- Provide support to all endoscopy teams, acting as a professional resource to ensure clinical effectiveness.
- Contribute to developing a culture that promotes equality and values diversity.
- Assist in maintaining an environment conducive to education, teaching, audit and training for patients and staff.
· Responsible for the clinical leadership of endoscopy teams as required.
- Role model standards of care and expected behaviour through participation in direct patient care.
- Maintain personal standards of conduct and behaviour, which are consistent with Trust, Nursing & Midwifery Council (NMC) standards and requirements.
- To participate in the requirements of the out of hours service as required, including weekends and on call service within a range of working environments.
- Organise own workload and adjust priorities in response to issues arising in the workplace.
- Recognise and respond appropriately to issues which require urgent or immediate attention, reporting to other members of the multi-disciplinary/ management team as necessary.
- Support the management of roster allocation for present and future shifts in order to provide safe staffing levels in line with the agreed workforce model.
- Ensure the provision of compassionate, safe and high quality care of all patients and supervise the working of junior staff and trainees during the span of duty.
- Identify service developments and plan for their implementation, review and adjustments.
- Assist the unit manager in supporting and contributing to agreed developments within the Business Group.
- Ensure the efficient use of department resources.
- Contribute to the JAG accreditation programme as required.

• If successful this vacancy will require an enhanced DBS check at a cost of £41.50. This cost will be deducted from your first Trust salary
In addition to this it will be a condition of your employment that you will join the DBS update service and pay the annual subscription fee of £13.
