Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated, dynamic and committed individual to join our Emergency Department educational team a Band 6 Clinical Practice Educator.
Our Emergency Department is currently undergoing a new build with a brand new department set to be finished early 2025.
If you are an experienced Emergency Nurse who is passionate about training and education and wants to make a difference in the development and support of our clinical workforce this is the post for you. You will work as part of the ED educational team alongside the Lead Clinical Practice Facilitator. This will include supporting staff to meet the RNC ECA National Curriculum and competency framework for Emergency Nursing, delivery of training sessions, clinical competencies assessments in practice and the ED MDT with other educational needs.
There are opportunities for attending courses like ALS/APLS, NTACC, AIMS and other courses to support you as the educator for the department.
Main duties of the job
- Work clinically in the Emergency department to support the junior workforce to ensure safe, effective and quality care.
- Contributing to the delivery of RCN ECA National Curriculum and competency framework for Emergency Nursing core clinical educational programmes including:
clinical induction programmes, AIMS course, Triage training delivery, minor Injuries training. - Support, coaching and assessment in the workplace for various members of the clinical workforce.
- Working alongside ED Nursing Teams and Specialists to provide tailored educational support to clinical teams as part of quality improvement and organisational change initiatives.
- Working with the Lead CPF and Matrons to formulate plans to meet identified educational needs for specific staff/groups.
- Provide training and assessment in the use of medical devices/ ANTT and Clinical competencies.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
- Promote, demonstrate, educate and encourage excellence in non-technical skills including high quality, effective communication skills within the ED.
- Communicate with a wide range of staff using a variety of methods to promote and deliver educational opportunities.
- Promote educational activities and programmes and act as point of contact within the organisation for queries and advice relating to these.
- Work closely with leaders and managers across the organisation to plan and deliver programmes to meet the educational needs of our clinical staff.
- Act as a role model for staff members by demonstrating and displaying the trust values.

If successful this vacancy will require an enhanced DBS check at a cost of £41.90. This cost will be deducted from your first Trust salary
In addition to this it will be a condition of your employment that you will join the DBS update service and pay the annual subscription fee of £13.
