This is a fixed term or secondment opportunity for 12 months
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Learning and Education Team at Stockport NHS Foundation Trust.
This post is a key member of the Clinical Skills training team at Stockport NHS Trust. The post holder will play a key part in the delivery and ongoing development of training sessions for a range of staff with a particular focus on clinical staff who do not hold a professional registration. As part of the wider training team they will also deliver training on resuscitation, moving and handling and conflict resolution and may be required to participate in other programmes depending on their level of relevant experience.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be responsible for the organisation delivery and facilitating the Care Certificate programme under the direction of the Learning and Education Department Senior Leadership Team and will act as a role model for our band 2, 3 and 4 staff across the organisation promoting professionalism and the Trust Values at all times
The post holder will work as part of a close team that deliver training and education on a range of mandatory and essential clinical subjects. They will be expected to identify and address their own learning needs and be responsible for maintaining an excellent level of personal competence for each of the subjects that they contribute to, and to actively participate in internal quality assurance activities.
The post holder will work closely with other members of the learning and education team to ensure that sufficient learning opportunities are provided to meet organisational demand and to adapt existing delivery methods to take account of changing circumstances and needs.
The post holder will actively promote assessment of competence in the workplace across a range of subjects, and will support assessment in practice working alongside clinical teams to implement and maintain a robust system of competency assessment.
This role requires a post holder who is an effective communicator, problem solver, and able to work both independently or as part of a team.

Plan, deliver and evaluate education and training sessions for a limited portfolio of clinical topics and skills including update sessions for more experienced practitioners.
Contribute to the delivery of the Trust’s induction and mandatory training programmes.
Promote and actively support the assessment of clinical competence in the workplace.
Provide educational support and interaction via a range of methods, becoming proficient in a number of these and be able to determine appropriate strategies for different educational initiatives to meet the needs of the organisation and our workforce.
Design, develop, distribute and maintain content within the Trust e-portfolio system
The Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment and promote safeguarding by implementing the Trust’s policies and procedures, acting promptly on concerns, communicating effectively and sharing information appropriately.
If successful this vacancy will require an enhanced DBS check at a cost of £54.50. This cost will be deducted from your first Trust salary
In addition to this it will be a condition of your employment that you will join the DBS update service and pay the annual subscription fee of £16.
