Job overview

This is an exciting time to join the Practice Education Facilitator Team at Stockport NHS FT.  As part of the role; you will support learners in practice from a wide variety of healthcare professions. You will develop and maintain links with Education Providers to support practice assessors and practice supervisors. A key aspect of the role will be to work with placement areas to increase placement capacity through the introduction of GM Synergy and Targeted Placement Expansion Projects, embedding  the principles of assessment and supervision. You will support the coaching approach across all placement areas within the organisation will be an integral part of your role.

 

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will have highly effective interpersonal skills including; the ability to work with a diverse team of professionals, able to work flexibly and use own initiative. You must have excellent organisational skills and be able to manage competing priorities.

Experience of teaching, supervising and assessing healthcare students is essential. Candidates will have a professional qualification (First Level Registration with NMC/HCPC)and valid registration appropriate to  specialty, alongside a degree. An appropriate Educator/teaching/mentorship qualification at Masters Level (or working towards) is essential.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

  • Develop the knowledge and skills to act as an expert resource/ Champion of Inter-professional Learning in Placement Providers.
  • Communicate educational and practice information across placement providers and educational Institutions.
  • Ensure communication channels are used appropriately to facilitate the flow of information between internal and external partners.

If successful this vacancy will require an enhanced DBS check at a cost of £41.90. This cost will be deducted from your first Trust salary

In addition to this it will be a condition of your employment that you will join the DBS update service and pay the annual subscription fee of £13.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Level 1 Registration with NMC or HCPC
  • Holds a First Level Degree
Desirable criteria
  • European Computer Driving License or equivalent experience
  • Hold or working towards Masters Level teaching qualification
  • Appropriate teaching/mentorship/Educator qualification

Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Knowledge of different teaching methods
  • Detailed understanding of a range of regulatory body requirements
  • Previous experience working within practice education role
  • Understanding of curriculum development and generation of learning outcomes
  • In depth knowledge of Quality Assurance principles and framework
  • Working knowledge of interprofessional learning theory
  • IT skills - word/Excel
