School Age Immunisation Service Co-ordinator Band 3

1 x 30 hrs TTO – permanent

An exciting opportunity has become available to join our high performing and passionate School Age Immunisation Service (SAIS) as a co-ordinator.  We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed individual to work with our SAIS to ensure continued high uptake of school age immunisations in Stockport both in schools and in community settings. Achieving high levels of immunity against vaccine preventable diseases is vital to reduce the spread of infection and prevent outbreaks.

  • Assist the Immunisation Team by organising and managing the scheduling of immunisation sessions.
  • Ensure all teams have the support required for the delivery of immunisation sessions.
  • Ensure that all communication within service and with partners and families is clear, accurate and timely to enable session taking place.
  • Ensure that clinical teams have all the equipment they require to perform clinical activity.
  • Carry out duties as directed by the Team Leads to support them to make the most effective and efficient use of clinical time.
  • Input data and provide the data reports accurately for service and other organisations as required.

·        Support the gathering and cross referencing of data (classlists for schools) and produce audit reports.

 Other duties will include handling telephone calls from parents/carers, communication with schools and wider team members and transporting equipment to and from immunisation sessions across Stockport.

School Age Immunisation Services (SAIS) providers are commissioned by NHS England (NHSE) to deliver the school-based immunisation programmes. Home schooled children and children not in mainstream schools for other reasons are also included. Stockport’s school age immunisation service currently sits within our school nursing service who are part of the Women, Children and Diagnostics Business Group of Stockport Foundation Trust, and also part of a wider integrated children’s service with Stockport Council called ‘Stockport Family’ which is an improved way of working with children and families in Stockport. The service includes health visiting, family help and social care services.

 

The Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment and promote safeguarding by implementing the Trust’s policies and procedures, acting promptly on concerns, communicating effectively and sharing information appropriately.

If successful this vacancy will require a Standard DBS check at a cost of £21.90. This cost will be deducted from your first Trust salary

In addition to this it will be a condition of your employment that you will join the DBS update service and pay the annual subscription fee of £13.
