An opportunity has arisen within the acute services in Stockport for a band 2 Housekeeper. Arden Ward is a 24 bed in-patient ward situated within Stepping Hill Hospital. The ward cares for males between the ages of 18 - 65 who are experiencing acute mental health problems. This is a vital role to support the smooth functioning of the ward and you will be part of a thriving team which is committed to providing a high level of quality care to the patients they work with.

Main duties of the job

Working as a member of the ward team you will be involved in a range of housekeeping duties, working in close liaison with the ward manager, in order to ensure that key tasks are effectively managed. This is a key role on the ward and we are looking for a motivated individual to become part of our thriving team.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Key Responsibilities of the Post:
You will be engaged in a variety of duties to support the nursing staff. The following lists some of your duties. (This list is not exclusive).

1. Infection control duties in collaboration with nursing staff.
2. Health and Safety.
3. Monitor the ward environment and liaise with the Ward Manager and Estates.
4. Serving Patient meals.
5. Implementing audit actions.

6. Ordering stock and stock rotation.  

7. Making beds or assisting patients to make their beds and keep their rooms clean and tidy.
