Job overview

We are looking to appoint 3 Transport Drivers on a permanent contract to carry out a daily scheduled service moving equipment, samples, notes, stores, pharmacy and any other ad-hoc requests between hospital clinics. 

There is  a need to move patients to home addresses, nursing homes and across all NCA sites etc.  Schedules will run Monday to Sunday this is based on service requirements .  There is a need to know all schedules to cover if the need arises.

You must have a pleasant manner and be able to communicate with other members of staff and the general public. 

You will need to be flexible towards the hours and duties within the Transport Department and be committed to work additional hours to meet contractual requirements.  This means working on a rota system covering specific shifts, weekends and bank holidays and the Christmas period.

Main duties of the job

You are required to have previous driving experience and will have to drive a range of commercial fleet vehicles ranging from small Ford Connect vans, minibuses, ambulances and 3.5t tail lifts. Previous driving experience is necessary as is good geographical knowledge.  Manual handing is essential and you will be required to handle heavy objects and/or patients.

You must be in possession of a current full clean driving licence 

You wil have recent experience of driving goods vehicles up to and including 3.5 tonne.
