Are you an experienced Band 6 Rotational Occupational Therapist, with good experience working in the field of Neuro / Stroke and looking for your next challenge? Or already working at a static Band 6 level in the speciality of Stroke / Neuro and want to come and work at Salford CSNRT? We have an exciting opportunity to further expand our B6 Static Neuro OT cohort and join our team allowing you to expand your knowledge, skills and expertise in this immensely rewarding area of work. CSNRT is all about patient led care and our patients are at the heart of everything that we do!
We are a strong MDT comprising of Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Speech Therapist, Dietitian, Nurses, Psychologists, Therapy Instructors/ Senior Assistants, Social Work, Assistant Practitioners and expert Administrative support.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for a motivated, dedicated and innovative individual to join our specialist service . You will have a broad and varied background of OT areas, including neurology experience, ideally in Acute and Community, and Stroke and Neuro.

We are looking for:

  • Experience mainly in Stroke and Neurorehab in community setting but ideally with some Acute exposure
  • Good level of post graduate training in area of speciality
  • Minimum of supervision of Band 5 staff and students
  • Provide rich student placements as Clinical Educator
  • Contribute to team development in own profession and wider MDT.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills
  • Highly effective communication skills
  • Successful team player
  • Ability to demonstrate drive and initiative

Professional Registration

Essential criteria
  • Degree in Occupational Therapy
  • Professional Registration

Post Graduate knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Good level of evidence of CPD in area of speciality
Desirable criteria
  • Evidence of CPD in both Stroke and Neuro conditions

Knowledge and Experience

Essential criteria
  • Significant post graduate experience in field of Stroke or Neuro in NHS setting, or equivalent
  • Significant experience in Acute or Community setting in area of specialty
Desirable criteria
  • Both Stroke and Neuro Experience
  • Both Acute and Community Experience in are of Stroke or Neuro

Supervision of staff and students

Essential criteria
  • Good level of experience supervising staff of Band 5 or below
  • Good level of experience of leading placements and supervising students
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of supervising newly experienced Band 6

MDT working

Essential criteria
  • Significant experience of working in and NHS MDT, or equivalent setting

Working in a community setting

Essential criteria
  • Ability to cover geographical footprint e.g. use of a car to attend to patient home visits, or equivalent
