Applications are invited for the above post to be based at Dermatopharmacology Unit, Salford Royal Hospital and Medicines Evaluation Unit. Wythenshawe Hospital site

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Clinical Trials Physician to join our team to run clinical research projects/trials in patients with dermatological diseases (e.g. psoriasis, eczema, acne, hidradenitis suppurativa, skin cancer) and skin ageing over 3-4 days per week. The post will link flexibly with a further 1 -2 days per week working as a clinical fellow in the Dermatology Department at Salford, seeing dermatology patients in clinics, option of on-call .  The exact time split will be discussed with line managers to suit the needs of the trial unit, clinical demands and career progression of the successful candidate.

The successful applicant will provide physician input and oversight for the portfolio of clinical trials and other research projects within the Dermatopharmacology Unit (DPU), and the Medicines Evaluation Unit (MEU) .They will work as part of a well-respected multi-disciplinary research group investigating dermatological conditions, making informed and independent medical decisions in the absence of the Principal Investigator, and providing medical support to the study teams, particularly the coordination of clinical trials Phase II to IV (DPU) Phase I & II (MEU) of new therapies for inflammatory skin disease.

The Medicines Evaluation Unit (MEU) Ltd based at Wythenshawe Hospital is one of the UKs leading contract research organisations, and a facility where commitment to excellence is paramount You will  attain early-phase clinical trial experience as a Sub-Investigator. This will primarily be in the field of Dermatology but the holder will also be expected to support studies in other areas when required. 

You will ensure that all research undertaken safeguards the well-being of the patients and is conducted within ICH Good Clinical Practice Guidelines .You will be a confident communicator, have good attention to detail, the ability to work to deadlines and be able work independently.
