Job overview

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our Radiology Nursing team as a Ward Clerk for our newly created Radiology Day Case Unit. 

As Ward Clerk you will be the first point of contact for patients and their families and other healthcare professionals, providing assistance and support, whilst maintaining a welcoming and warm environment. You will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of the unit,  by managing administrative and clerical tasks and co-coordinating patient appointments.

This is a rewarding role, in which you can contribute in the delivery of exceptional patient care throughout their journey.

Main duties of the job

The main duties of this role are as follows, but not limited to:

Receive patients, their relatives/carers, and visitors to the Radiology Day Case Unit in a welcoming manner.

Coordinating patient appointments for procedures.

Maintain strict confidentiality regarding patient information, adhering to trust policies and procedures.

Deal with telephone enquiries promptly and efficiently.

Use of clinical systems such as PAS / Patient Centre / CRIS.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Maths and English GSCE (Grades A-C)
Desirable criteria
  • RSA Level 2 in Word Processing/typing or equivalent

Knowledge and Training

Essential criteria
  • Experience of working within admin/office setting
  • Experience using clinical systems
  • Experience in working with the public
Desirable criteria
  • Previous experience working in a healthcare setting
