Do you have a passion for MSK Physiotherapy? An exciting opportunity has arisen for motivated, dedicated and innovative Physiotherapist to join our workforce of band 6 specialist MSK Physiotherapists .
Our MSK staff rotate between outpatient templates covering clinics across Salford. We have a robust induction and training schedule and you will be supported by the Physiotherapy Operational and Professional Lead, Clinical Leads and other MDT colleagues.
You will be expected to support the wider team and assist in the development of services within the MSK environment. Therefore, the ability to work as part of a team, leadership skills and experience of supervising staff and students are essential criteria.
You should have significant post registration experience including experience working at a Band 5 level (or above) not only in MSK but also in a variety of speciality areas.
You will need to be able to demonstrate specialist knowledge in the assessment and treatment of patients; an understanding of the National Guidelines / Standards, as well as evidence of post graduate training within the MSK setting .
Highly developed communication skills, flexibility, good organisational skills and time management skills are all essential criteria. Basic IT skills are also required.

- To deliver a wide variety of clinical work within the Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy Service in the hospital and also within the community clinic setting. This includes working with patients who have a variety of complex needs, e.g.:
- Orthopaedic Post-op patients
- Degenerative Conditions
- Chronic Pain
- Self-referral patients
- Assess and treat own caseload of patients who have complex presentations and maintain own records as an autonomous practitioner
- To lead assessment, liaison and decision making processes for patients.
- To undertake a significant clinical caseload to a high professional standard, using specialist knowledge from theoretical and practical experience.
- To support the Band 7/8a in the planning, co-ordination and evaluation of the MSK Physiotherapy Service on a day-to-day basis, and to cover for any other area with this specific caseload as necessary.

- Evidence of post graduate training relevant to MSK

- CSP member or relevant specialist interest group
Experience, knowledge and skills

- Experience in all core areas, incl Respiratory, community, neuro, MSK and ACM
- Evidence of ongoing CPD related to MSK
- Evidence of advanced Team Work / MDT working in a clinical setting relevant to MSK
- Evidence of supervising students and other staff members in the NHS using PARE
- Evidence of contribution to QI / service development work in an MSK outpatient setting
- Evidence of strong autonomous decision making MSK setting
- Evidence of assessing and treating a wide variety of patients in a MSK setting
- Minimum of 2 years experience in an MSK setting
