Job overview

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic Physiotherapist to join our new Urgent Response Team.  You will be working as a Specialist Band 6 Physiotherapist.  The team will work across the Salford Neighbourhoods, whilst assessing and treating patients in their own homes.
The Physiotherapy Department at Salford Care Organisation is one of the largest in Greater Manchester.  We invest in our Physio's & have a wealth of experience in the department including Advanced Practitioners, Clinical Specialist 8a's, Band 5, 6, 7's and Therapy Assistants.  We also have Degree Apprentice OT's and Assistant Practitioners.  Service development & CPD is highly valued in the department.

Main duties of the job

You will work as a Specialist Band 6 Physio in an Urgent Response model, enabling patients with urgent health requirements, to remain in their own homes.  You will be supported by a large friendly department who continually strive for service improvement & the best possible outcomes for patients.
You will take a strengths based approach to assess / treat patients with complex needs in line with the Urgent Response ethos.  You will work in the hospital site & patients own homes.  Excellent communication skills are required to ensure the hospital & community teams are working towards a clear patient centred plan.  You will work with the MDT to formulate risk assessments & develop clear strength based plans.

Registration & Qualification

Essential criteria
  • HCPC registration
  • BSc / MSc Physiotherapy
Desirable criteria
  • Post graduate training relevant to core areas

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

Essential criteria
  • Significant post registration NHS experience with knowledge of Urgent Response & Strengths Based approach
  • Evidence of wide clinical theoretical knowledge base
  • Experience of working as part of an MDT
  • Evidence of supervising other staff and students
  • Evidence of contribution to service improvement / development
  • To demonstrate an awareness and understanding of supporting equality and valuing diversity within their role
Desirable criteria
  • Management qualification or evidence of future pursuit
  • Experience of working in the community and /or Rehabilitation unit
