Job overview

We are seeking highly skilled and motivated Rotational Hospital Pharmacists to join our dynamic, forward thinking and  welcoming pharmacy team at Salford Royal.   We offer a unique opportunity to work across various departments and settings, providing a diverse and enriching experience. As a Rotational Hospital Pharmacist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and effective use of medicines and be supported to develop your skills.

Main duties of the job

As a registered Pharmacist with the GPhC you will have a good understanding of medicines and the legal framework for dispensing prescribing and administration of medicines and will support the multidisciplinary team to care for our patients.

 Experience  of hospital pharmacy practice is desirable but not essential. The extended rotational programme includes a number of specialities at the Salford Royal site and GP practices across Salford.

 You will work in a team of  highly specialised pharmacists and will gain experience in all aspects of the pharmacy services - dispensary, aseptic, , homecare, and medicines optimisation services as well as a primary care rotation.

 We support pharmacist development and the opportunity to study for postgraduate clinical qualification following 12 months experience.

  • • Registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council or currently undertaking approved foundation pharmacist training in the United Kingdom

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • • Vocational Master’s degree in Pharmacy or equivalent
Desirable criteria
  • • Completed foundation pharmacist training and passed registration exam.

Knowledge and experience

Essential criteria
  • • Professional knowledge acquired through a vocational master’s degree in pharmacy
  • • Understanding of issues affecting NHS & hospital pharmacy
