Job overview

Pharmacy Technician – General Practice (GP) / Primary Care Network (PCN)  / NIPPS (Network Integrated Practice Pharmacy team in Salford)

Clinical Pharmacy in General Practice is part of an exciting programme of transformation to develop a new model of care which addresses our ambition to deliver person-centred, co-ordinated care across an integrated health economy.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join an experienced and dynamic team providing clinical pharmacy services within local Primary Care Networks.

Do you enjoy working directly with people, dealing with a variety of needs and challenges, as well as delivering actual benefits and making a true difference? We pride ourselves on providing the best possible care for patients whilst creating a safe environment for our staff.

We are looking for enthusiastic and forward-thinking pharmacy technicians to complement the team. We welcome applicants with or without GP experience. If you have the right skills and qualities, we can provide on-going support to develop professionally.

We have flexible working arrangements and a range of staff benefits.

Main duties of the job

The pharmacy role within primary care can pro-actively help patients stay safe and well and out of hospital, as well as helping reduce the demands on general practice.

Working together with Clinical Pharmacists, you will support patients to get the best outcomes from their medicines. You will work within a PCN promoting high quality and cost-effective prescribing practice.

The role provides a great opportunity to join a committed team as well as having access to national training through the NHSE Clinical Training Pathway and be part of a local network of clinical pharmacists/other technicians.

We are looking for candidates who are enthusiastic and adaptable to change, with good clinical and I.T. skills. Candidates should exhibit organisational skills and ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of healthcare professionals and other stakeholders including patients, families and carers.
