Highly Specialist Physiotherapist - Neurosurgery

We are looking for a forward thinking, passionate individual with proven experience within Neurosurgical services suitable for a band 7 physiotherapist to join our in-patient Neurosurgery Team here at Salford Care Organisation. The role will contribute to inpatient and day case patients, covering areas such as critical care, neurosurgical wards, short stay , day case and spinal wards. You would be working alongside fellow band 7 Physiotherapists and band 7 Occupational Therapists managing a large team of physiotherapists from band 3 to band 6 level.

- To take a lead role in the advanced assessment and treatment of neurological / neurosurgical patients, who may have complex and /or chronic presentation.
- To determine clinical diagnosis and treatment indicated and maintain records as an autonomous practitioner.
- To lead assessment, liaison, and decision-making processes on behalf of the MDT for patients referred to the service.
- To undertake a significant clinical caseload to a high professional standard using specialist knowledge from theoretical and practical experience.
- To plan, coordinate and evaluate the Physiotherapy Service in own work area provided to neurological / neurosurgical in-patients on a day-to-day basis, and to cover for any other area with this specific caseload as necessary.
- Act as a clinical adviser for neurosurgery patients within the trust footprint.
- To be able to work across 7 days, contributing to weekend working and to the respiratory on-call rota.

- HCPC registered
- Significant evidence of post registration NHS based development in Neurosurgical related services

- Post Graduate study in Neurological or Neurosurgical related topics
- Evidence of involvement in Neurological or Neurosurgical related research
- CSP Member
Knowledge

- Evidence of advanced assessment and treatment of Neurosurgical related conditions within a NHS setting
- Evidence of strong MDT working and networking
- Evidence of a strong understanding leadership
- Evidence of continued Neurosurgical relevant CPD
- Strong evidence of supervision / competent clinical educator within a clinical setting
- Evidence of quality improvement work or Service development within a clinical setting
- Evidence of autonomous decision making Neurosurgical setting
- Evidence of advanced communication skills and leading difficult discussion
