Band 7 Specialist Neurosciences Dietitian

NHS AfC: Band 7

Job overview

Salford is home to the Manchester Centre of Clinical Neurosciences (MCCN) and is one of the busiest Neurosciences units in the UK, providing specialist care to a range of conditions. Within Neurosurgery this includes Neuro-Oncology, Spinal, Neuro-Vascular and Major Trauma.

Salford is part of the Greater Manchester Major Trauma Network, providing care to patients who have sustained major trauma injuries. The Greater Manchester Major Trauma Hospital will soon be opening based on site at Salford. This will be a purpose-built facility for complex major trauma patients.

This role will deliver specialist clinical work, lead on service development, involve close MDT working and provide the opportunity to supervise and manage junior staff. There will be opportunity to work alongside other dietetic specialities as we experience an increasing poly morbid population.

The role would suit an individual with a solid foundation in nutrition support which would involve working with the major trauma and neuro oncology pathways.

Main duties of the job

To lead on the provision of a dietetic service to Neurosurgery at Salford Royal.
