Job overview

To provide routine NHS dental treatment to patients referred to the community Dental services specialties of paediatric and special care dentistry.

Main duties of the job

  • Provide dental care to patient groups within the remit of Salford Community Dental Service and in particular those groups requiring paediatric and special care dentistry.
  • Provide domiciliary care and inhalation sedation to patients referred to Salford Community Dental Service.
  • Work with senior colleagues to provide care under general anaesthesia in Salford Royal hospital.
  • Provide care from a range of premises.
  • Responsibility for the working arrangements and standards at the clinic from which clinical services are provided
  • The post holder will be expected to maintain the high standards of clinical and professional behaviour required by Salford Community Dental Service.
  • Maintenance of own records of your continuing professional education and development.
  • Communicate positively and affectively.
  • Actively give and receive feedback in a constructive manner.
  • The post holder is expected to have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and will be required to communicate and liaise with a range of individuals and groups including, senior managers at Salford Care Organisation, medical and dental consultants, primary care practitioners, other health and social professional team members, patients, and their families/ carers and the public.
