Job overview

To work within the maintenance team providing reactive, planned and emergency maintenance using skills in carrying out a wide and varied spectrum of tasks efficiently, to the required quality standard and within your own competence and safety limits.

Main duties of the job

  • The position of maintenance assistant will be based at the Prestwich site with a percentage of the time spent supporting GMMH buildings on the site and locations within Manchester, Bolton, Cumbria, Salford and Trafford. This may change depending on the needs of the service.
  • Work will be notified via an electronic medium iPad or iPhone and the successful candidate will plan their daily tasks throughout the Trust’s estate.
  • Providing a proactive and flexible multi skilled planned, reactive and emergency maintenance service at the various locations as part of the Estates Team. Supporting the location managers in the day to day provision of a maintenance service, ensuring that it fulfils its function effectively, economically and efficiently within legislation and guidance standards.
  • Co-ordinating and monitor the work of contractors appointed to undertake maintenance, cleaning and waste management.
