Assistant Technical Officer - Respiratory / Sleep

Northern Care Alliance are looking for a self-motivated person with an interest in working in a clinical environment to join our Respiratory/Sleep Team.

The role will involve performing a range of respiratory/ sleep investigations  and assisting in more advanced respiratory/sleep procedures.

If you are able and willing too learn, organised and have good communication skills , this would be a great time for you to become a member of our busy team.

The Respiratory/Sleep Team based on Fairfield Hospital site and covering services on Royal Oldham Hospital and the newly build Community Diagnostic Centre in Royton Oldham, offers a range of respiratory/sleep investigations to give a complete patient experience from initial investigation, treatment and up to the follow on care of patients within this field. 

Prif ddyletswyddau'r swydd

  • Performing a range of non-routine respiratory/sleep investigations such as Simple Spirometry, basic sleep screening, inhaler techniques and CPAP mask fitting.
  • Assisting in more advanced respiratory/sleep investigations.
  • Provide reports for routine respiratory/sleep investigations.
  • Participate in resuscitation procedures/BLS.
  • Liaise with wards, departments requesting procedures to give best patient care.
  • Ensure effective administration of patient reports and data storage  ensuring confidentiality.

Knowledge, Skills, Training and Experience

  • Competent to perform basic Respiratory/Sleep investigations
  • Basic life support training
  • Commitment to training and education required for the role

  • Good communication skills (verbal, written and non-written)
  • Ability to use own initiative
  • Ability to work unsupervised and as part of a team
  • Able to undertake complex eye-hand coordination tasks such as electrode placement, and dexterity and coordination for the use of diagnostic equipment
