Highly Specialist Eating Disorders Dietician
Location: Yorkshire, Leeds, Moortown
· Salary: Band 7 £41,659 - £45,839 pro rata (Band 7)
· We are looking for 42 hours per calendar month input, this will include one short day on a Tuesday, once per month to attend MDT meeting.

Essential requirements of the role
· A Degree/ Postgraduate Diploma (or equivalent) in Dietetics, registration with HCPC (Health Care Professions Council) and full membership of the BDA (British Dietetic Association)
· Previous experience of supporting service users with eating disorders
· The ability to work collaboratively with a wider multi-disciplinary team (both internal and external)
· Professional, confident, and warm personality
· Leadership qualities, enthusiasm along with influencing and motivation skills
· The ability to organise own workload effectively and to work independently
· A good understanding of the issues young people may face
· An excellent understanding of the issues around confidentiality
· An excellent understanding of safeguarding
· The ability to remain calm in emergencies, supporting others during difficult situations
· To be an excellent role model, leading by example and practicing what you preach
· Excellent telephone manner, polite, professional and relay accurate information to the manager
Desirable Criteria of Highly Specialised Dietician
· Experience within a Band 7 role
· Experience of working within Residential services
· Experience of working with Care Quality Commission (CQC) or Ofsted registered services
Experience of working with individuals struggling with broader mental health issues

Your role as a Highly Specialist Dietician:
· To develop and implement treatment plans and provide advice to young people with a variety of complex dietetic needs, diverse presentations, and a range of mental health conditions.
· To participate in the MDT meetings and CPA’s for young people, providing specialist dietetic reports.
· To participate in monthly meeting alongside the MDT in relation to the care of the young people.
· To work with young people during weekly clinics identifying dietetic goals, using specialist dietetic knowledge and skills: assessing, planning, implementing treatment and delivering dietetic interventions.
· To effectively Support the development of dietetic groups alongside the dietetic support worker, i.e. shopping group, cookery group, nutritional psychoeducation.
· To delegate work to the Dietetic support worker, whose competence has been established, whilst maintaining professional accountability and ensuring their work meets required standards.
· To collect relevant data and information to help support assessment and treatment plans of young people.
· To motivate, guide, and encourage young people to comply with advised dietary/care treatment and monitor progress.
· To act upon any physical health concerns in relation to the young person based on their care plans, risk management plans and history of eating disorder.
· To ensure that the nutritional goals of the young people align with the overall aims and objectives that ensure individual development.
· To be actively involved in the admission, assessment, implementation and discharge of young people and their care.
· To have involvement and provide guidance in relation to line management of the dietetic support worker.
· To facilitate others in the team to develop competence by providing clinical leadership and specialist clinical advice on eating disorders.
· To work compassionately with service users and carers to achieve identified goals and to promote independence and well-being.
· To present as a positive role model to all staff members and young people.
· To have an ability to deal sensitively with distress and behaviours that challenge in young people.
· To ensure that you appropriately liaise with the relevant GP’s, CCG, Community Mental health Services regarding the welfare of the individual young person.
· To always maintain appropriate professional boundaries and maintain confidentiality.
· To ensure staff training records are up-to-date and accurate, linking in with the People Services Department where required.
