An exciting opportunity has arisen in Atherleigh Park Hospital Inpatients PICU Unit. We specialise in the assessment and treatment of people with a broad spectrum of acute and enduring mental health needs requiring intensive care nursing with complex care needs. We provide care and treatment to inpatients that are experiencing a critically acute phase of a mental illness. Our aim is to manage and reduce the risks associated with acute episodes of mental illness through evidence-based assessment and treatment, and psychosocial interventions for individuals and their families.
Atherleigh Park Hospital has 5 wards and Priestners unit is a newly developed 8 bedded female psychiatric intensive care unit specialising in delivering trauma informed care,.
We are looking for experienced, skilled and enthusiastic Band 5 nurses to work within our newly established multi professional team. You will be part of a caring , friendly and compassionate team that is committed to supporting patients through their recovery journey and making a difference.
We are seeking experienced mental health nurses with post qualifying experience.
Main duties of the job

There are always opportunities for staff to receive additional training in relation to each staff members needs and interests. This is on top of the local band 5 development training. Atherleigh Park is established in providing a trauma informed and least restrictive approach to ensure high quality and safe patient care.
Our wards and PICU unit are busy and need staff that show a high degree of motivation and commitment to deliver excellent care. We have a substantial support package available to new starters and staff on the preceptorship pathway.

Qualification
Essential criteria
- Qualified or soon to be qualified
Desirable criteria
- Already holds nursing PIN
- Degree in health care related topc
Skills

- Demonstrates good communication skills
- Evidence of working within an MDT
- Inpatient experience
- Awareness of CPA, risk assessment and carer involvement

- Evidence of working in areas outside of inpatients
