Job overview

Located within the grounds of Stepping Hill hospital is Stockport Pharmaceuticals Aseptic Services unit. 

The unit is part of the regional NHS pharmaceutical production unit and holds Medicinal Product licenses with which the team provide a wide range of aseptic products both nationally and internally to the trust.  

The unit also carries out the aseptic dispensing of products under Section 10 exemption on behalf of Stepping Hill Hospital.

The position available is for an Senior Pharmacy Technician - Aseptic Services - Workflow, Planning & Delivery.

 

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be responsible for planning the delivery of a wide range of aseptic products to Stockport NHS Trust and neighbouring Trusts. 

The post holder will need to manage the complex technical processes particularly in the areas of workforce planning and organisation.  

The post holder will provide specialist technical leadership requiring a high level of autonomy.

Education & Qualification

Essential criteria
  • BTEC in Pharmaceutical Sciences or NVQ III in Pharmacy Sciences
  • Current registration with GPhC
  • Aseptic Preparation + Dispensing of Medicines course
Desirable criteria
  • Evidence of CPD
  • Working towards (1) or completed (2) Accredited Accuracy Course

Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Knowledge of technical procedures at NVQ Level III – Pharmacy Services
  • Awareness of COSHH
Desirable criteria
  • Knowledge of Medicines Management Standards & Procedures and Evidence of application.

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Extensive experience in hospital Aseptic Services in Pharmacy.
Desirable criteria
  • Prisym (1) & Ascribe (1) Computer Experience
  • Automated dispensing
