Pennine Care CAMHS have the opportunity for Registered Nurse mental health, Social worker, Occupational therapist or accredited/accreditable child and young persons wellbeing practitioners to develop their skills and knowledge by join the team as a recruit to train trainee, part of the NHS England (NHSE) funded Recruit to Train Programme. 

You will be training on the Children & Young People Mental Health (CYP-MH/CYP IAPT) Therapy Course and carrying out clinical work in our service to complement your studies and use your newly developed skills. 

The training programmes on offer are post graduate diploma in systemic family practice (SFP) in the below two services. Please state in your supporting information section of your application, which service you are applying for.

Applicants need to be able to start the programme at the end of December/start of January 2025 and commit to attendance at all university based taught and self-study days required by the higher education institute. 

You will work in the service for the remaining days of the week using your newly developed skills to ensure you gain the necessary clinical practice hours to fulfil the academic programme. This is 200 hours of modality and case specific practice for the full time courses.

Shortlisting of applications will take place on 9th August 2024. 

Interviews are being held on 21st, 27th and 28th August. Interviews are allocated on first come first serve basis. No other interview dates can be offered.

Qualifications

  • Relevant qualified and registered clinician eg RMN, Social Worker or AHP or an accredited/ accreditable child and young persons wellbeing practitioner (CYWP)

Experience

  • Significant post qualification experience in community mental health services to post graduate diploma level
  • Professional involvement with the users of mental health services.
  • Experience of multi-agency working
  • Extensive experience, some of which must be case management working with Children, young people and their carers in a mental health or other complex care setting to post graduate diploma level
  • Inter-agency liaison and consultation
  • Experience of supervising/mentoring junior staff
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and guidance e.g. NHS plan, Mental Health Legislation, Children’s act, Education Act, Working Together, Children’s NSF, Every Child Matters, etc.
  • Clinical/therapeutic knowledge and skills in mental health.
  • Experience of safeguarding children and young people.
  • Experience in assessment and risk management and ability to implement evidence based practice

Knowledge
