In line with the government’s priority to increase access and availability of mental health and wellbeing support for children and young people, the Education Mental Health Practitioner (EMHP) role is an exciting opportunity to deliver evidence-based early interventions for children and young people, working across both educational settings and healthcare sectors in England.

Successful candidates will be employed full-time and based in a new specialist mental health support team (MHST) focusing on health inequalities within our communities.  The team will cover the Pennine Care footprint working across Bury, Stockport, Tameside, Oldham & Rochdale. Access to a car will therefore be essential for this role.

The team will be responsible for the delivery of low level mental health support in educational settings across the localities.

For part of this role there will be a requirement to travel to Edge Hill University for the teaching element of the programme. For further details please refer to their website: PGDip Education Mental Health Practitioner for Children and Young People (edgehill.ac.uk)

The successful candidates must be able to start employment by 1.1.2025 in order to start the course at the university.
