Are you an RMN with transferable skills wanting that next step?

CAMHS experience is desired but not essential,  as you will be fully supported throughout.

We are keen to hear from dynamic individuals with relevant transferable skills , who are interested in joining an expanding inpatient CAMHS Service.

 We are looking for individuals with a genuine interest in working with children and young people and being  pert of their positive futures. 

We cater for children and young people with mental health needs and eating disorders/ disordered eating.  The units benefit from a variety of practitioners and roles including occupational therapy, social work, occupational therapists, medical staff, and psychology in addition to the nursing teams

As a charge nurse on you will have the chance to demonstrate leadership in many different clinical situations. Your contribution to the quality of care provided will be valued by the wider multi-disciplinary team.  There is support and supervision for further study that relates to working with children and young people

With the referral team and Responsible Clinician, undertake assessment of patients referred to our service and feedback as required

Undertake comprehensive, patient-focused, nursing assessment and co-produce care plans in consultation with the service user and their families and carers

Undertake comprehensive risk assessment and formulate risk management plans with Service Users, their families and Carers,

Assist the Unit Manager in developing a service that will ensure that the needs of patients are met with regard to their age, spiritual, cultural, ethnic and sexual orientation

To assist the Unit Manager with the on-going development of the unit

In the absence of the manager, undertake responsibility for the day to day running of the unit

In consultation with the multi-disciplinary team, ensure high standards of individual care for patients and that they are fully consulted and involved in every aspect of their care

To provide management and clinical supervision to members of staff.

To conduct annual appraisals/IPDRs for staff members

To liaise effectively with all members of the multi-disciplinary team and both statutory and non-statutory organisations involved with client care

To assist the Unit Manager in ensuring high quality of evidence-based practice is carried out by all staff within the unit

To participate in the recruitment process, as required.

  • NMC Registration
  • Evidence of ongoing continuing professional development
  • Short courses and experience to post graduate diploma level

  • Relevant degree or working towards
  • ENB 998 or Mentorship in Practice or relevant teaching certificate e.g. City and Guilds 730
  • Experience of working with children and young people

Experience

  • Evidence of the ability to assess, plan, implement and evaluate care
  • Able to undertake thorough risk assessments
  • Previous Nursing Experience / working in a fast pace challenging environment
  • Substantial post registered experience
  • Experience of providing management and clinical supervision to junior staff

  • Experience of working in CAMHS
  • Clinical supervision facilitator

Knowledge

  • An awareness of current initiatives within CAMHS
  • Understanding of changes to MHA and the Code of practice and their practical application within clinical settings.

Work Related Circumstances
