Job overview
Applications are invited from suitable candidates to provide a range of secretarial, administrative and clerical services to the Bury Integrated MSK Service.
You will be part of a team of administrative staff with responsibility to provide general administrative support to the clinical team.
You must have substantial administrative and secretarial experience including audio typing; a good knowledge of software programs/IT systems such as Excel, Word and Outlook; be able to work on your initiative and within a busy team environment. Experience of NHS systems and processes is desirable.
You will at times be acting as the first point of contact for our service therefore you will require excellent communication and customer care skills. You should also be committed to team working; adaptable to the needs of the service; and have the ability to remain calm under pressure.
Main duties of the job
Typing clinic letters, preparing notes for clinics, arranging referrals, collating investigation results
Deal with patient queries on the phone and by email.
Liaise with relevant departments to ensure that any further actions/appointments are requested e.g. referrals to secondary care.
Organise and prioritise own workload, ensuring timely completion within set deadlines.
The department is working towards a 7 day model of service delivery and as such you will be expected to be flexible in terms of working patterns including weekends, bank holidays and extra hours if necessary.

Education/Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Level C GCSE English or equivalent
- NVQ Level 2 in Administration or equivalent
- IT skills qualification or equivalent
Desirable criteria
- NVQ Level 3 in or equivalent
- ECDL or equivalent qualification
- RSA level 2 or equivalent.
