Are you looking for a new challenge and want to work in a team that values development and potential as a qualified HR professional? 

We are looking for ambitious and committed individuals to help make a positive impact within our Employment Relations Team. 

We are now seeking two Employment Relations Advisors within our Employment Relations Team on either a secondment basis or fixed term contract, initially for 6 months but could be extended to be longer. 

This role is key in supporting our HR Business Partners and wider Workforce Teams in the provision of a professional, and proactive human resources service, which supports the forward planning, modernisation and transformation, engagement and performance of the workforce.

You will provide comprehensive advice and support to managers and staff on operational HR issues, including Employee Relations, Attendance Management and Terms and Conditions, ensuring people focused solutions are identified and followed up.

The post holders will be required to support formal casework activity including disciplinary, grievance and sickness and therefore you should only apply if you have demonstrable experience with these processes.

Main duties of the job

Internal Relationships

To work with our HRBPs to ensure that all people aspects of change are well managed and communicated.

Work with our Partnership Officers to contribute to the development and implementation of fair and equitable employment policies, procedures and practice.

Deliver presentations to managers and staff to inform, educate and support.

Employee Relations

With the Workforce ER Team, develop a positive approach to the 
management of employee relations, building strong working relationships with managers, clinicians, staff and their representatives.

To work within a triage system to be a first point of contact to managers and staff in employment related issues, providing advice on how to deal with a range of issues, including the interpretation of terms and conditions and the implementation of policies.

Engage with Staff Side and accredited TU representatives and contribute to a proactive and stable employee relations environment.

Develop, maintain and apply professional expert knowledge to advise managers in dealing with employment issues. 

Provide, receive and process complex, sensitive and contentious information. 

To support managers in hearings and appeals by providing advice and coordination.

Provide individual coaching to managers on people management issues to 
develop confidence and competence in the management of people.

children and adults.

Our mental health teams provide care and treatment for people with mild to moderate conditions such as depression, anxiety or dementia, or more serious mental health illnesses  such as schizophrenia and bi-polar disorder. 
We run Healthy Minds (psychological therapies), drug and alcohol services, psychiatric intensive care, rehabilitation services, military veterans’ services and many more.

Our learning disability services are for people with a moderate to profound level of learning disability, such as those with downs syndrome.

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent experience with the ability to work at this level. (2)
  • Evidence of appropriate CIPD membership (Level 5 minimum) or relevant experience to demonstrate this level of theory and practice in HR. (2)
