Permanent - full time - 37.5 hours per week
Greenwich and Bexley Community Health services are seeking an enthusiastic physiotherapist to join our community team to participate in our growing band 5 rotational scheme. This is a fantastic opportunity for band 5 staff to develop skills and knowledge. Rotations will include community assessment and rehabilitation, intermediate care, and MSK service.
Main duties of the job
You will be guided and supported through six monthly rotations by senior staff. Each rotation builds on previous experience enabling further development of clinical competencies. You will also be able to access a wealth of training through regular in service training and on the job time with experts in their fields of work.
The ethos of the service is to work in a multidisciplinary way promoting holistic working to ensure that all the care needs of the client are met to improve the quality of life.
You will need to be a versatile, adaptable team player who has good organisational skills. You will be required to use multiple computer systems therefore a good knowledge of IT is essential.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
The Community Assessment and Rehabilitation Service is an integrated service with health and social care, providing Rehabilitation, including Dietetics, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Speech and Language Therapy and Nursing to adult client’s living in the borough of Greenwich, across various community settings and in their homes.
The Greenwich MSK service is an assessment, triage and treatment service which receives referrals that may have otherwise been directed to secondary care. Patients are seen in a clinic setting across the borough. Patients present with a range of complaints causing them pain, movement impairment or reduced function. - To be responsibility for a designated caseload of patients. To organise this caseload efficiently and effectively with regards to clinical priorities
- Undertake client assessment using standardised assessment tools and/or the single assessment process
- Recommend appropriate interventions to promote independence and safety
- Monitor client status, using clinical judgement and knowledge in regards to progressing and/ or making minor modifications to treatment programmes
- Maintain effective multidisciplinary communications in order to ensure that treatment goals are met and a high quality service is provided to clients
- Ensure safe, appropriate and effective provision, installation and demonstration of equipment and further develop knowledge of minor/major adaptation provision and teach necessary techniques to ensure patient safety.
- To work in a co-ordinated multidisciplinary manner, communicating effectively with other team members and the wider clinical and social network involved in client care
- To undertake and advise on moving and handling of patients and apply manual handling techniques to assess and treat patients.
- To have knowledge and understanding of specialist assessments and be able to select and execute these, then process and interpret the results.

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
