Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, highly motivated, and experienced individual to work within our Unplanned Care Division.
We are looking for an individual who can demonstrate a positive attitude with an ability to develop and improve services in collaboration with clinical colleagues. The successful candidate will therefore have a track record of managing and leading teams in a complex and changing environment.
You will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the services, with particular reference to Elective recovery, patient experience, operational performance, and budgetary control. Experience of DM01, RTT and cancer performance management is essential and applications would be particularly welcome from those candidates with previous experience within Endoscopy and Cardiology.
You should be able to work independently to identify and plan for service needs, in line with demand and under the supervision of department's Senior Service Managers.
In addition, you will lead an administrative team and will work in partnership with Consultants, Matron/Lead Nurses, Ward/Outpatient Managers, and medical staff to develop plans that focus on the continuous improvement of patient pathways.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be responsible for a number of specialties and the delivery of key national and local targets such as RTT, cancer & diagnostic waiting time standards. The post holder will work with clinical leads to ensure safe and efficient services are delivered in line with the Trusts CARES values. Additional responsibilities are as follows:
- To lead and facilitate service development, improvement to patient pathways in collaboration with the clinical leads and multidisciplinary team and stakeholders both in and out of hospital.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive capacity plan that ensures the delivery of both key access targets and savings attributed to the services within the portfolio.
- To support the Senior Service Manager in developing and implementing strategic plans in relation to integrated care and service re-design for acute hospital services.
