Job overview
This is an exciting time to join The Hillingdon Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust as the CT Modality Lead Radiographer.
This position would suit a qualified and experienced CT Radiographer capable and willing to work to the highest standards. They will be part of a team which supports each other and takes pride in delivering excellent patient care.
The post holder will be a strong communicator with resilience to ensure patient safety, quality, access, and a positive patient and carer experience is upheld. They will be understanding of the importance of working with a multidisciplinary team and how different parts of the system impact on each other. They will be calm and decisive in times of escalation, supporting the team to deliver an excellent CT service.
They will be working with a strong and responsive radiology team with an outstanding record of IRMER compliance, diagnostic performance and delivering a wide range of advanced practice roles.

The Radiology Department hosts student radiographers with a commitment to delivering high quality teaching. It actively supports and encourages career development at all levels including Assistant Practitioner and Advanced Practice.
Main duties of the job
Responsible for the organisation, planning, management and delivery of a comprehensive and effective 24/7 CT imaging service, including managing the CT waiting lists and provide weekly reports/KPI’s for review
To lead a team of CT radiographers to produce high quality scans in accordance with the current radiation regulations and departmental protocols/procedures at the lowest radiation dose possible.
To line manage staff including attendance management, personal development and disciplinary investigations.
To work in conjunction with other Modality leads to manage day to day operations and staff rota.
To provide professional support for staff and contribute towards the development of plans to improve patient care within current professional and legal standards, national and local policies.

Experience and Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Minimum 5 years post qualification
- Experience of leading and managing a team
- Previous organisational experience
- Awareness of all legislation relevant to the post
- Participation in clinical audit
- Competently undertake and prioritise a complex clinical workload.
Desirable criteria
- Radiation Protection Supervisor Training
- Participation in performance targets / data collection and action plans
