Job overview

 

Provides technical support and extended role clinical duties on wards and in the pharmacy relating to optimal use of medicines.

The role involves supply of medicines via various routes supporting assessment of patients’ medicines needs and resolution of physical and clinical issues relating to medicines.

Post holders are required to have relevant GPhC accreditation (NVQ2 in Pharmacy Services) or equivalent experience, or if not, will be supported to achieve this accreditation on Band 2 until achieved after which Band 3 remuneration will apply.

Essential criteria
  • GPhC accredited qualification in Pharmacy services
  • Working towards or completed GPhC accreditation for extended medicines optimisation roles for Pharmacy Assistants
  • Good command of English language
  • Recent previous experience working in pharmacy within the NH
  • Keyboard and basic IT skills
  • Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods
  • Good organisational skills
  • Ability to follow standard operating procedure tasks
