We have been working together in a Partnership between Barnet, Enfield and Haringey Mental Health NHS Trust and Camden and Islington NHS Foundation Trust for some time, with a single Chair and Chief Executive since 2021 and single Executive Team since 2022. We launched our North London Mental Health Partnership Strategy in May 2023 and in July 2023 our Boards agreed that coming together to create one new Trust is best for our service users, our staff and our local communities. Subject to final approvals, we will be formally established as one new Trust on 1 October 2024.

Job overview

 

To work with the Multidisciplinary specialist drug team , providing relapse prevention workshop  and Groups, support the outreach rough sleepers service , contribute in the naloxone distribution and further pilots, work closely with the pharmacists community partner`s in the distribution of needle exchange and hostels

Main duties of the job

 

-To provide, create and deliver a range of peer support activities and care planning for service users who meet the Rough Sleepers initiative criteria 

 -To provide specialist advice in relation to recovery to service users and actively encourage them to make positive changes to their lives

 -To  be involved in developing the Co-production service and take a lead in recruiting volunteers to support service development.

 -To support the day to day running of the Rough sleeper’s outreach and assist service users to optimise support as well as fast tracking within the system .

-To assist the running of Harm Reduction workshops  within Hostels and at the Grove Drug service . Assist with Naloxone distribution among the Hostels and service user`s .

 -To assist  needle exchange  provisions  within the  community pharmacies and  at the  Grove.

- To maintain clear and concise documentation as required 

 - Seek to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with service

users, relatives, carers, colleagues and other disciplines.

 -Ensure effective and confidential communication between professionals and

 service users.

-Observe and report any concerns regarding service users to the nominated 

professional.

- To ensure that any risk issues identified with service users are flagged up to 

the Manager.

-To observe and report potential and actual hazards in any clients you work with to your Manager and senior colleagues and initiate “common sense” measures to alleviate these when necessary

 

-To liaise with the manager and senior colleagues to ensure that Policies and

Procedures are adhered to

 

- Maintain confidentiality about any information concerning service users or colleagues that is of a confidential nature.

 

-To participate in the Rough Sleepers and Clinical  Team Meetings.
