Then the MASH health practitioner role may be for you!
The principal role of the MASH Health Practitioner is to gather and analyse proportionate health information which contributes to protecting children and improving outcomes for children and families.
Thurrock has a multi-cultural community, providing the opportunity to work with a diverse population. You will work in a supportive, dynamic, integrated team environment. The MASH Practitioner is key in implementing the MASH Health process working collaboratively with team members and other agencies to deliver a true multi agency approach to assess risk and decision making.
Main duties of the job
- To collect and collate information from health records in accordance with agreed Information.
- Sharing Protocol and in compliance with data protection regulations.
To ensure sharing of relevant information as requested by MASH team . - Ensure information to be shared is researched and shared within agreed timescales.
- Co-ordinate data to support team activity and the management team in ensuring resources are targeted to areas of greatest need and promoting joint interventions.
- Attending meetings to maintain intelligence gathering and actively engage in panel meetings.
- Attend Daily Risk Management (DRM) and Strategy meetings.
Respond to requests for health information within the MASH, by gathering, analysing and sharing relevant and proportionate health information to safeguard and protect children and improved outcomes for children and families.
To maintain effective working together with partner agencies within the wider MASH Team.
Liaise with health colleagues/other health agencies where necessary in order to gather relevant health information and share concern/decision on a need to know basis with identified health actions.

This post will be subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt from the probationary period (unless you are an internal applicant currently part way through a probationary period or currently a bank member of staff).
Starting with NELFT
NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focussing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.
High Cost Area Supplement - Fringe
This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 5% of the basic salary (with a minimum of £1,192 to a maximum of £2,011 p.a. pro rata for part time).
