Band 5, Full time -37.50 Hours

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Surgical Rota Co-ordinator to join the Rota Team within ICORS.

The post holder will work as part of a team and  will provide support in the proactive management and be responsible for the creation and pro-active management of the medical on-call rota and medical departmental rotas within ICORS focusing primarily on General Surgery and Orthopaedics.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will, in conjunction with the relevant consultants, be responsible for the creation and pro-active management of the medical on-call rota and medical departmental rotas within

To effect the distributions of key information/circulates to clinical staff and relevant line managers.

To authorise requisitions and sign off timesheets (including medical staff) where delegated to do so.

Assist the Clinical Leads / Operational Managers and Clinical Director Support the Directorate team in developing and implementing the service improvement agenda, corporate and Directorate targets and National Service Frameworks.

To organise the agenda’s, take minutes and ensure that actions re correctly recorded following the Consultants Clinical Governance meetings.

Compile the local departmental induction pack in conjunction with Clinical Leads/Clinical Directors.

Undertake performance reviews of the medical workforce data, forecasting trends and developments that affect service delivery and provide information as requested

To work with the clinical director and the associate directors to implement the engagement plan.

Deal effectively with enquiries, on the telephone or email using initiative to take action or redirect queries as appropriate.

Person specification

KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING

Essential criteria
  • Knowledge and understanding of Junior Doctor rotas.
  • Good General computer skills, including the ability to use Microsoft Office, and excel to a high level.
Desirable criteria
  • Understanding of the Junior Doctor rotations
  • Working knowledge of LMS booking system

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Experience of dealing with staff of all levels within a large organisation
  • Working knowledge of medical staffing rotas and approved working hours
Desirable criteria
  • Understanding of the European Working Time Directive
