Job overview

Are you an experienced nurse looking for an exciting new opportunity? We are seeking a skilled, motivated and dynamic Nurse with a passion for high quality care and service development.

You will responsible for developing the competencies of the clinical nursing staff across Night Nursing Service, Urgent Community Response Team (UCRT), Rehabilitation And Frailty Team (RAFT), Thurrock Integrated Community Team (ICT), and Thurrock Day Hospital. These services cover the following geographical areas Thurrock, Basildon, Brentwood, Billericay, Wickford.   

This role will support staff within the services to acquire and maintain the required skillset and competencies to ensure efficiency high quality services and patient safety is achieved. As part of this role you will need to work some evenings up to 10pm to support service development.

This is a fixed term 12 month contract and close monitoring of improvements made from this project will be required, with an expectation to provide reports of the outcomes achieved. Skills in transformation/project management are essential.

Main duties of the job

  • Provide comprehensive assessment and support to learners including those on work-based programmes, supporting staff to develop and obtain basic nursing skills as identified within the service remit.
  • The post holder will support staff to develop their careers, promoting active learning via apprenticeships and training.
  • Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, acting as a resource to provide nursing advice
  • Develop and maintain a collaborative approach to Mental Health and Physical Health training and develop the competencies for this experience.
  • Encourage joint working and actively work towards improving outcomes for patients via the process of education and experience.
  • Keep accurate data and provide accurate information as required.

Starting with NELFT

NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focusing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.

Probationary Period

This post will be subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt from the probationary period (unless you are an internal applicant currently part way through a probationary period or currently a bank member of staff).

High Cost Area Supplement – Fringe

This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 5% of the basic salary (minimum payment of £1,192 and a maximum payment of £2,011 per annum pro rata).
