Job overview

We have a vacancy for a Radiology Department Assistants to join the team at the newly developed Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC).

The Radiology Department provides imaging for the local community and wider sector including referred patients from GP’s. 

We are looking for someone who is able to work under pressure, assist radiologists and sonographers undertaking diagnostic examinations, provide care for the patient whilst maintaining a safe and clean environment and support a high quality clerical and clinical support service when required to the radiology department.

Main duties of the job

  • To work as part of the radiology based team maintaining good professional relationship with patients, departments and Trust staff.
  • To perform I/V cannulation.
  • To assist the radiologists, sonographers and radiographers with checking patient details, getting the patients changed and manage attendances on the RIS system.
  • To answer any question the patient may ask once the examination is completed (and to take advice from a sonographer / radiographer or the radiologist when necessary).

  • Previous experience in a health care environment working within a team.
