OT Frailty Practitioner

Job overview

We are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic OT Frailty Lead Practitioner to join our team at Ealing Hospital. Our vision is to provide the best possible care to our frail elderly patients, and we need a passionate and skilled leader to help us achieve this goal.

As the OT Frailty Lead Practitioner, you will use your clinical experience, expertise and advanced skills to support the development of enhanced clinical competencies ensuring appropriate training, support and oversight to maintain a clinically competent workforce.

Main duties of the job

The ideal candidate will have excellent clinical experience and knowledge about caring for elderly patients and providing the best possible support to them and their families. They must also have strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate and inspire their team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing expert leadership for our rapid access and discharge lounge services, as well as our SDEC area. This will involve managing and developing our teams, providing clinical advice and support, and ensuring that our care is delivered in a safe and effective manner.

Essential criteria
  • Registered Nurse or relevant Registration on HCPC
  • NMC teaching qualification or equivalent AHP competency
  • Prescribing Course qualification (Working towards)
  • Physical Examination Course (Working towards)
  • Relevant Post Registration Qualification Relevant Post Registration Qualification

nowledge & Experience

Essential criteria
  • Significant experience at Band 7 level within the Acute area
  • Managing/working with staff from different disciplines
Desirable criteria
  • Evidence of Leadership and service development

Skills, Abilities and Attributes

Essential criteria
  • Demonstrates the ability to share ideas, information and feedback in order to empower all levels of staff in the clinical directorate
  • Understanding of the concepts of clinical governance
  • Ability to interpret and utilise information effectively. This must include numerical and financial information
