Job overview
An excellent opportunity has arisen within the Cardiac Catheter Labs for a Band 5 Staff Nurse to join our dynamic and friendly teams. If you are an enthusiastic, flexible and passionate individual then this would be an ideal opportunity for you.
As the successful candidate, you will be expected to work across both Northwick Park and Ealing Hospital within the 2 sites there are three Cardiac Catheter labs and an day care unit on each site. The labs run Monday to Friday with an additional list on one day at a weekend at Northwick Park and you would be expected to work different hours across those days.
You will be expected to provide cross site cover with the other sites within our trust when required. This will allow you to develop your Catheter lab skills in all areas of intervention.
Potential candidates must have excellent communication skills and work well as part of a multi-disciplinary team. You must have the ability to work under pressure.
A desire for personal professional development is essential. Additional university and in-house courses will be provided.
Main duties of the job
The Labs carry out many cardiac procedures, including TOE’s, Cardioversion's, invasive angiography, EKOS and insertion of devices.
You will be expected to provide cross site cover with the other sites within our trust when required. This will allow you to develop your Catheter lab skills in all areas of intervention.
Potential candidates must have excellent communication skills and work well as part of a multi-disciplinary team. You must have the ability to work under pressure.

- Educated to degree level or desire to do so
- Evidence of continuing professional development
- Current registered nurse with NMC

- Teaching qualification or desire to do so
Knowledge & Experience

- IT Literate
- Effective verbal, written and electronic communication
- Hospital experience at band 5 level
Desirable criteria
- Experience in implementing improvement in practice
- Previous Cardiology Experience
