An exciting opportunity has arisen for Family and Systemic Practitioner with generic & specialist mental health experience to work within a multi-disciplinary team in Harrow CAMHS. 

This is a full time is part of a well-established systemic discipline where professional development and innovative work is actively encouraged.

Prif ddyletswyddau'r swydd

The post holder will provide generic CAMHS assessment and intervention as well as providing systemic interventions and contribute to support plans for the care of children and young people with learning disability, young offenders, refugees and asylum seekers and eating disorders. They will also contribute to highly specialist assessments of children with complex mental health presentations such as ASD, OCD and Eating Disorders and support case formulation and treatment plans in line with best practice and evidence-based interventions.

The post will be supervised by the Lead Family & Systemic Psychotherapist in Harrow Tier 3 CAMHS and line managed by the Sub-Team Lead in conjunction with the Team Manager.

Harrow is a culturally diverse borough and we are keen to provide culturally appropriate services to families. We are looking for an enthusiastic systemic therapist who has good amount of CAMHS experience and is able to integrate quickly into a busy CAMHS team.

To provide a service to children and young people with mental health problems across all sectors of care as part of a multi-disciplinary CAMHS service. Providing systemic intervention to service users and their families/carers. The post holder will work autonomously within professional guidelines and the overall framework of the service’s policies and procedures. They will utilise research skills for audit to support policy and service development; and undertake research within the area served by the service and of relevance to young people their families and carers.

Education and Qualifications

  • Family therapy training to Intermediate / Foundation level or equivalent.

  • Post- graduate training in additional CAMHS related specialized work
  • Recent Safeguarding children training
  • CYP IAPT training
  • Qualification in core mental health or social welfare profession (e.g. social work, mental health nursing, psychology, occupational therapy) and significant post qualification experience

Experience

  • Work experience within a multidisciplinary team and preferably CAMHS team
  • Experience of working with complex cases

  • Fluent in an additional language
  • Able to deliver parent training and groups

  • Experience of liaison with agencies and services responsible for the care, support and wellbeing of service users and their families/carers
  • Able to promote self management and recovery by working with service users and their families to understand their condition and identify and reinforce strengths, resources and coping skills
  • Able to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team, actively engaging in and supporting duty and emergency rota’s, peer support, training and skills development
  • Able to confidently and safely plan for and manage change and transition
  • Actively uses supervision and opportunities for development of skills

  • Understands the process for keeping safe, secure and relevant clinical records
  • Able to use email to support effective communication in line with CNWL policy
  • Able to use Microsoft PowerPoint and other communication methods to support the delivery of high quality, engaging training and presentations
