Senior Project Manager

The Estates & Facilities Directorate is responsible for management of estate, facilities and capital developments for the Trust,

The Trust requires a Senior Project Manager with extensive knowledge of construction, to undertake a variety of capital developments. Typically, the value of schemes is in the region of £20,000 to £11m and includes the management of Construction projects, in-house and via external consultants. You will also be expected to design, tender and manage smaller Construction projects independently without reverting to Consultants.

The post requires solid experience of developing briefs and designs, compiling project documentation, managing complex projects, contract administration, budget control and commissioning; all undertaken whilst maintaining close communication with clinical staff and stakeholders. 

The post will also manage and co-ordinate the output of 2 project managers, reporting on progress and cost to the Head of Estate Development

A construction related degree or membership of a professional body is preferred but this may not be necessary if relevant experience can be demonstrated.  Mobility is essential so you will hold a full driving licence. This is an office based post.

Contributing to the development of an efficient and effective estate strategy that supports the delivery of excellent health services within the capital and revenue allowances.

Manage the day to day activity of the Trusts Construction Project Managers.

Producing policies and standardised operational procedures for the consistent delivery of projects by the Trust. 

Responsible for the effective delivery of various capital projects (value dependant on seniority) in line with the estates strategy, including space reviews, feasibility studies, production of business cases and the management of capital projects from inception to completion.

 

Ensuring estates projects are planned and implemented in conjunction with colleagues within the directorate, from other Trust directorates and providers, ensuring the scheme meet the on-going operational needs and objectives of the organisations.

Provide expertise and specialist professional construction and estates advice to other estates and facilities staff, directors, senior management of the organisation, and at times to external agencies.

  • Degree level qualification in a construction related subject (or equivalent experience) supplemented by a range of specialist estates and project management knowledge acquired through postgraduate courses to master’s level equivalent and significant experience in a senior management role.
