"Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust (BHRUT) is a large teaching Trust located in North East London. Our Vision is to provide outstanding healthcare to our community, delivered with pride.
We care for a population of more than 750,000 people and are one of the largest employers in the region, with 7,500 staff and volunteers. We have a national and international reputation for many of our specialist services, including stroke, renal, neurosciences, cancer services and trauma.

We take PRIDE in everything we do, our five core values reflect that PRIDE. These values were developed together with our staff. We work hard to provide outstanding care to our community, delivered with PRIDE. Our PRIDE values of Passion; Responsibility; Innovation; Drive and Empowerment inspire us and keep our patients at the heart of everything we do.

We are looking for an experienced professional to be responsible for leading the development of data analysis and reporting systems, ensuring that robust and efficient systems are in place to enable the Trust to report effectively and maintain oversight of its key quality and safety requirement. The post holder will be responsible for producing, analysing, interpreting and delivering high quality, consistent and timely data that support these requirements and will have the ability to present and manipulate complex data sets.

•    To develop the Safeguard Risk Management System for each of the modules (Incident reporting, Risk Register, Complaints, Inquests, Claims, Alerts,
•    Risk & Safety) to ensure that they are maximised for ease of data entry, comprehensive data capture and accessible data reporting.
•    Work with Safeguard/Ulysses users to encourage adherence to protocol for data capture and analysis, and to ensure consistency of data across all modules of the Safeguard/Ulysses Risk Management System.
•    Provide Safeguard/Ulysses training to staff as required and ensure that users have the correct access.
•    Provide first line support in the management of the Safeguard/Ulysses contract and be the key point of contact between the Trust and the system supplier.
•    To monitor all incidents, inquests, complaints, claims and risks on the system to be able to identify and flag trends.
•    Post holder must be able to work with minimal supervision, have excellent communication and time management skills, use considerable initiative and act in a professional manner.

Working for our organisation

We’re an organisation that is getting better and better. We were the most improved Trust in England for A&E performance in 2023/24; we’re no longer in special measures; and Matthew Trainer, our Chief Executive, has been named the top CEO by the Health Service Journal. Our improvements are driven by a determination to deliver care we’re proud of and that our patients are happy with.

Many of our 8,000 staff – who come from 146 different countries - live in the three diverse London boroughs we serve and the majority are from black, Asian and minority ethnic groups. More than 400 of them are on apprenticeship programmes and we’re proud to be a London Living Wage employer.

We operate from two main sites - King George Hospital (KGH) in Goodmayes and Queen’s Hospital in Romford. We have two of the busiest emergency departments in London – more than 300,000 people visited our A&Es in 2023.

Patients across north east London are benefitting from two new state of the art theatres at KGH and our Community Diagnostic Centres at Barking Community Hospital and St George’s Health and Wellbeing Hub will significantly increase the number of scans that can be carried out.

We’re looking forward to introducing an electronic patient record next year. This will mean the records of any patient visiting one of the seven hospitals run by BHRUT and Barts Health will be accessible to the clinical teams. It’ll make things easier for staff and will be better for patients.
