We are looking to recruit an experienced, enthusiastic and motivated Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist to work within our friendly Wheelchair Service which is supported by a well-established User Group. We are a team of 16 Occupational/ Physiotherapists (Bands 6/7/8), Rehabilitation Engineers and administrative staff.  The team structure offers opportunities for career progression for therapists working in the Service.

You will assess and prescribe wheelchairs, buggies and accessories to the clients of all ages in their own homes, other environments in the community, e.g. special schools, day centres and at Queen Mary’s Hospital, Roehampton.

You will have excellent opportunities to develop a wide range of clinical and professional skills working with clients of all ages. With supervision you will experience assessing lightweight and powered chairs and will work with the in-house Special Seating Team and Rehabilitation Engineers.

The Wheelchair Service is commissioned by 5 CCG’s across South West London and is responsible for approximately 8,500 clients.

·        Has HCPC registration and knowledge of postural management and seating theory.

·         Has post-qualification experience of rehabilitation in the community or hospital setting

·         Has an interest in working with people of all ages presenting with multiple mobility challenges and seating needs.

·         Has excellent communication skills, initiative and self-motivation, and is an adaptable, dynamic individual.

·         Has excellent time management skills.

·         Has a willingness to participate in audit, professional and service development.

·         Has strong teamwork skills.

·         Is a car owner /driver
