We are actively seeking three (3) IT Project Managers to join our Healthcare Informatics PMO,

This exciting opportunity is for a 2 year fixed term contract leading on the delivery of key IT projects aligned to our Digital Strategy.

As a Project Manager within the Healthcare Informatics Programme Management Office (PMO), you will play a crucial role in overseeing and managing the delivery of all projects within Informatics. The PMO is responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of strategic and key elements of the 5-year Digital Strategy recently published by NELFT, with a focus on Make OneNELFT Digital and Enable patients choice of care.

Main duties of the job

Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that all aspects of the project lifecycle are adhered to, from initiation through to closure, and that project governance is maintained at all times. This will involve working closely with stakeholders, team members, and external vendors to ensure that projects are delivered on time, within scope, and to the required quality standards.

As part of the HCI Programme plan, you will continually contribute to the ongoing development of the plan, ensuring that it remains aligned with the strategic goals of the organisation. You will also be responsible for developing and maintaining project plans, tracking progress against milestones, identifying and managing risks and issues, and reporting on project status to senior management and other stakeholders.

To be successful in this role, you will need to have strong project management skills, including experience of managing complex projects within a healthcare or related environment. You will also need to be able to work effectively in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment, with the ability to adapt to new challenges and requirements as they arise.

Overall, this is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the delivery of NELFT's Digital Strategy, working within a dynamic and forward-thinking PMO team that is focused on driving innovation and change within Healthcare Informatics.

Starting with NELFT

NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust.  All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment.  As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focussing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes.  The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.

 

Probationary Period

This post will be subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt from the probationary period (unless you are an internal applicant currently part way through a probationary period or currently a bank member of staff).

 

High Cost Area Supplement

This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (with a minimum of £4,313 to a maximum of £5,436).

Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Significant experience in Managing and delivering complex Healthcare IT projects with a wide range of stakeholders
  • Significant experience of Project Methodology, techniques and Tool such as Prince2
  • Project Management qualification e.g Prince 2
  • 3 years experience of working in a Project Manager role
  • Excellent IT/Microsoft Office Skills; i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project and applications used to support  project and business management.
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of working with EPR systems
  • Previous delivery of Hybrid Mail Projects
  • Previous delivery of RPA projects

Communication

Essential criteria
  • Excellent verbal and written skills
  • Excellent presentational skills evidenced to large groups
  • significant experience in negotiating with senior stakeholders
  • Ability to influence and gain commitment from key stakeholders at all levels

Planning & Organisational Skills

Essential criteria
  • Demonstrated capability to plan over short, medium and long-term timeframes and adjust plans and resource requirements accordingly.
  • Must be able to work under pressure, equality of opportunity and good working relationships, respects and values diversity.
  • Experience of day-to-day management and motivation of a team and reviewing performance of individuals, coordinating work activities, recruitment, etc.
