Consultant Psychiatrist,  (10 PAs) + on call supplement

Applications for  Consultant Psychiatrist to join our passionate and experienced medical workforce at the Community Mental Health Hub providing care for patients who need secondary mental health support. The Hub caters for service users with all diagnostic categories and is a needs-led service.

Within the Hub we are using Dialog+ to plan care and as part of our Think Family approach are actively engaged with families and carers. In line with the parity of esteem model the Hub supports the physical health management of patients with dedicated nurses for this purpose.

Leadership

The post-holder will have Consultant and RC responsibility and will be supported by a first-class multi-disciplinary team. They will provide clinical leadership and work in close partnership with the Hub’s dedicated managers, clinical lead psychologist, clinical lead nurse and the senior practitioners for each pathway, to support the growth and development of the team and to meet the standards set by local and national frameworks.

Training and Development

Being part of a large and diverse London based Trust enables clinicians to access alternative learning and experience opportunities including a comprehensive program of professional development to which the successful candidate will have access. A personal budget for CPD is allocated to each consultant annually and there is also access to apply for CEA awards.

After very  positive feedback from our August 2022 cohort of FY, GP and Core Trainees, the Deanery has increased our uptake with two more space for 2023. From March this year, we will also be welcoming our first cohort of 3rd year Medical Students, led by our newly appointed Director of Undergraduate Education and Clinical Fellow.

Over the last few years our catchment area has grown significantly, making the Trust’s population more diverse than ever. The area spans the communities of London, Milton Keynes and wider geographical areas of Buckinghamshire, Surrey, Kent and Hampshire. As a new consultant in the team you will be offered a place on the Management and Leadership Course run by the Trust, in conjunction with Imperial College. The Trust also has a partnership with the Institute of Healthcare Improvement (IHI), giving you the opportunity to gain knowledge in improvement science and enhance your skills and confidence to understand healthcare systems and successfully implement change.

Please note, applicants must be on the Specialist Register or within 6 months of obtaining the CCT and Approved Clinician Status. The successful applicant will be eligible to apply for relocation support in line with the Trust’s Removal Expenses Policy.
