Job overview
The N&S CAMHS Trauma, Anxiety and Depression clinic (TAD) is looking for an enthusiastic and skilled band 7 Clinical/Counselling Psychologist/CBT Therapist/CAMHS Specialist to join our well-renowned team. This is a fantastic and rare opportunity to join us in delivering a high-quality, evidence-based psychological therapy for children and young people with severe and complex emotional difficulties. We have a permanent full-time (1.0wte / 37.5 hours) vacancy and are keen to receive applications from all, including those who would prefer part-time hours/job-share.

Main duties of the job
The post-holder will provide specialist clinical services including assessment, formulation, treatment and monitoring of outcomes with children and young people with severe and complex emotional difficulties (PTSD, anxiety and depression). They will also provide clinical supervision to junior members of the team, as appropriate. The post holder will also contribute to and support senior colleagues with teaching/training, service evaluation, audit, research and service development projects.

The N&S CAMHS TAD clinic is based at the Michael Rutter Centre, De Crespigny Park, SE5 8AZ on the Maudsley Hospital site. Located at Denmark Hill less than 5 minutes from the train station (zone 2) and is within walking distance from the beautiful green spaces of Ruskin Park and the vibrant high-street that offers great shopping opportunities and with a wide range of restaurants. The TAD post holder will work most of their sessions from the Denmark Hill site, but it is possible to negotiate some continued home-working online sessions to provide a good work and home balance.

In this role you will be able to work Monday to Friday in the time frames from 8am to 6pm, giving you the very best of good work life balance. Detailed job description and main responsibilities
· To provide a specialist multi- disciplinary assessment service to the Trauma, Anxiety and Depression Clinic in National and Specialist CAMHS including diagnostic and formulation driven assessments and neuro-developmental assessments when required.
· To deliver psychological therapy to children, young people (and their carers) with anxiety, depression and/or PTSD, using a range of approaches including CBT, EMDR, IPTA and MBCT. This will involve planning treatment and discharge, liaising with relevant people in the system managing risk and safeguarding concerns (under supervision) and monitoring of outcomes.
· To provide clinical supervision to junior practitioners and consultation as appropriate.
· To support more senior staff in delivering teaching to other CAMHS professionals.
· To support relevant service evaluation, audit and research appropriate to a band 7 level.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Doctorate in Clinical Psychology or MSc PG Diploma or Doctorate in Counselling Psychology or equivalent; (A/I) OR Post Graduate Diploma in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy
- Registration (or eligibility for registration) with the HCPC as Practitioner Psychologist or equivalent professional registration with BABCP, AFT, UKCP, NMC or other professional body (A/I)
Desirable criteria
- Accredited or Accreditable as a BABCP practitioner
- EMDR Training
Experience
Essential criteria
- Experience of psychological assessment and evidence-based treatment of CYP with a range of psychological needs of a complex nature in trauma, anxiety and depression. (A/I)
- Experience of developing and carrying out research projects. (A/I)
Desirable criteria
- Experience of delivering cognitive behavioural therapy for complex and severe anxiety disorders or mood-related disorders. (A/I)
- Experience of delivering trauma focused cognitive therapy for complex and severe post-traumatic stress disorder
Understanding and Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Theoretical knowledge of psychopathology and the evidence base for the relevant treatment for young people and their carers with depression, anxiety and PTSD. (A/I)
Skills and Abilities
Essential criteria
- To deliver psychological therapy across diverse client groups. (A/I)
- Ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team, contributing to effective team functioning and holding team roles. (A/I)
- Ability to identify and employ mechanisms of clinical governance as appropriate. (A/I)
