Job overview

North East London NHS Foundation Trust is seeking to recruit an IAPT Counsellor for  Waltham Forest Talking Therapies Service, who already has the experience of working in an IAPT service and is qualified in one of the IAPT compliant modalities. Currently, CFD, IPT and DIT are desirable modalities.  We are looking for a highly motivated Counsellor with a range of assessment skills, clinical experience in delivering evidence based interventions for adults with mild to moderate anxiety and depressive symptoms.

The post will involve counselling assessments and interventions and this will form the majority of the clinical work from referrals within IAPT. There will be opportunities to work with other experienced practitioners. You will be offered regular supervision & case management.

Main duties of the job

Applicants will be working with adults presenting with depression, using a stepped care model in line with the national IAPT programme and NICE guidelines for psychological interventions. We as a team encourage a good work/life balance, as such we are happy for clinicians to work up to 40% of their week from home. As a dynamic and empowering team there is a strong focus on team work, candidates should also be able to deliver an autonomous service as part of the role, operating within recognised professional guidelines and the overall framework of the team’s services policies and procedures. Post holders will be expected to work within the service’s business hours (8am – 8pm) and offer a minimum of one evening per week until 8pm. We are happy to consider requests for flexible working.
