Job overview
This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal leadership role in shaping and delivering our spaces and services. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrable track record in delivering complex capital projects with extensive knowledge of healthcare design, estates, and property construction. You will have an ability to develop effective relationships at an executive level and with a wide range of external stakeholders, and influence, inspire and unify those along the journey. Main duties of the job
Our Director of Capital Delivery is a key member of the Redevelopment senior leadership team and will be pivotal in achieving our strategic ambitions. The incumbent will hold responsibility for providing effective leadership, direction and delivery of project management services and resources, and the management of associated processes, procedures and reporting. The post holder will also be responsible for our redevelopments meeting the New Hospital Programme net zero carbon commitments and for developing and delivering the redevelopment digital strategy.

EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS
Essential criteria
- • First degree or equivalent in a construction related profession
- • Postgraduate qualification at masters level or or equivalent experience
- • Membership of relevant professional body
Desirable criteria
- • Evidence of continuous education and training
- • Diploma in Project Management
- • Prince 2 Project management qualification
EXPERIENCE
Essential criteria
- • Experience of working in a complex organisation at senior management level for a period of a least 5 years
- • Capital experience that makes you an expert and leader in your field
- • Management of significant budgets
- • Experience dealing with the Department of Health and HM Treasury
- • Commercial experience contracting
- • Working at or with Board level directors
- • Leading multi professional teams
Desirable criteria
- • Senior manager level experience in public sector
- • Experience of using ProCure22 (P22) framework for the development and delivery of NHS capital schemes
- • A good understanding of performance management methodology and processes
SKILLS
Essential criteria
- • Analytical skills, drawing out key points and analysing complex data
- • Strong business acumen, commercial knowledge and awareness
- • Good technical skills in standard business systems (e.g. Microsoft Office)
- • Preparing and presenting reports on complex issues to a range of audiences
